May is for ASPARAGUS!
Pick your own asparagus from one of Chautauqua County’s fine produce farms then how many ways may we enjoy it in a meal?  Learn about cultivating it in your own garden.  Visit Amish country the next day (or start there on Saturday) including their greenhouses with bargains on vegetable sets, bedding plants, etc.
  June is for SUCCULENT SALADS!
Hand-picked baby greens are the basics for a terrific salad.  Visit the new “family farm” – one based on environmentally friendly practices from the cistern that gathers water for a gravity-fed system to water the plants to heritage seeds for corn that has not been genetically modified to feed the free-range chickens.

Slow food is real food, gathered locally & made fresh.  Our Cherry Creek area is rich with naturally grown meats, vegetables, fruits, cheeses.  Spend time in the country, enjoy the bounty and take some of the local goodness home.
